Patient Participation Group (PPG)

"In spite of the rain and cold the daffodils are coming out and snowdrops are appearing in the hedgerows. To add to this cheering sight the Covid Vaccination Programme continues to gain momentum. The members of the PPG Committee are hearing many positive comments from the public about the smooth way the system is running in our area. This must be a huge logistical effort and we are fortunate to have vaccination centres fairly close to our homes. We also know that the team from the Medical Centre are visiting those who are housebound and cannot get out.

Don’t forget that if you have any feedback or comments for your Patient Participation Group regarding the Medical Centre you can contact us by email:  d-ccg .budleighppg@nhs.net or or leave a letter in the white postbox by the door at the Surgery.

With good wishes from your PPG."

Sue Lake, Chairperson, Budleigh Salterton PPG, February 2021

"Your PPG would like to wish everyone in Budleigh a fit and peaceful Christmas. It has been such a turbulent year with many changes to our lives which we have had to adapt to. As we near the year end we know that vaccines are on the way and a careful programme of delivery has been devised and started. The PPG are aware that many in the NHS have forgone time with their families, time to rest and time to reflect in order to meet some very challenging demands. We would like to thank our own Surgery for working long hours to keep us as safe as they can. Of necessity there have been some changes to the way in which GPs and nurses interact with us but we too as patients are learning to adapt.

We all look forward to safer times and trust that 2021 is a better year for everyone.”

Sue Lake, Chairperson, Budleigh Salterton PPG, December 2020

As you will see from the recent PPG Newsletter on this website our Medical Centre remains very busy, but please do contact them if you are concerned about your health. Some of the reports in the media about GP services may cause you concern but the Medical Centre are anxious that you know they remain available to help you.

If you wish to contact your PPG our email address is: d-ccg.budleighppg@nhs.net, or you can leave a letter in the white surgery post-box to the right of the entrance. We hope you and your families remain safe.

Sue Lake, Chairperson, Budleigh Salterton PPG, November 2020

I just wanted to let you know that your Patient Participation Group continues to have regular communications with the Medical Centre. It continues to support the patient perspective regarding service provision and safe working practices and we always welcome your feedback. We are pleased to let you know that we now have an email address as an additional way for contacting the PPG. The address is: d-ccg.budleighppg@nhs.net

As I mentioned in my previous notice the PPG Annual General Meeting is postponed until such time it can be organised to ensure the safety of attendees. We will of course let you know as soon as we are able to arrange a date

About PPG’s……

“PPG’s are groups of active volunteer patients working in with practice staff and GP’s. We want our PPG to create a unique partnership to work with us to provide practical support and to encourage patients to take more responsibility for their own health”

Why have a PPG?

We want our PPG to represent our practice population. To give practice staff and patients a forum to suggestive positive ideas and voice concerns.

Good to have ground rules….

Ground rules are important to ensure meetings are not used for pursuing individual personal complaints or agendas. Patient confidentiality is of the utmost importance and everyone on the PPG should be treated fairly, equally and with respect.
