GP Paramedic

We are delighted to welcome, Paul Ferns to our clinical team.  Paul is a highly skilled paramedic working with our surgery and supporting our GPs and our Duty Team.  He will be assisting in the management of acute issues and home visits and able to assess, diagnose, treat and refer patients.

Nursing Team

 

Our nursing team are available by appointment and are able to offer a wide range of services. They are particularly concerned with preventing disease and promoting good health.

The Practice Nurses undertake procedures including cervical smear tests, injections, dressings, travel vaccinations and routine immunisations.  They also monitor, inform and support those with diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure,

The Healthcare Assistants work under the supervision of the Practice Nurses and are trained in clinical tasks such as taking blood, measuring blood pressure, ECGs, ear syringing, routine health checks (including those for newly registered patients).

The General Practice Assistant (GPA) is a new and emerging role created to relieve some of the pressure on GPs.  A cross between a healthcare assistant and a doctor’s Personal Assistant combining administrative and clinical skills.
