Budleigh Salterton Health Centre Charity
(Charity Number: 1058054)
The Budleigh Salterton Health Centre Charity was established in 1996 with the objective to relieve sickness and preserve health amongst persons permanently or temporarily resident in the catchment area of the Budleigh Salterton Medical Centre. In practical terms the Charity provides equipment and and facilities with a direct benefit to patients.
The Charity largely relies upon donations from patients and families whose legacies reflect the level of care provided by medical staff.
Over the years, the charity has helped to pay for thousands of pounds worth of equipment. Many patients would have benefited from one or more of the many items bought by the Charity over the years without even knowing.
What has the Charity funded?
Budleigh Salterton Health Centre Charity has funded thousands of pounds worth of quality equipment since 1996. Just some of the funded items are listed below:
- Medical equipment for the clinical room at Seachange
- 50% funding of the purchase and installation of the automatic healthcare monitor in the practice foyer
- Face masks during COVID which were made available throughout the town for residents
- Portable minor surgery lamp
- Three top range ‘hop-on’ adjustable couches ideal for patients with mobility problems
- Modern ECG machine which is used daily by the clinicians
- Wheelchair for patient use when they visit the practice
- Liquid nitrogen for cryotherapy which is not something normally provided in primary care - the charity provide the liquid nitrogen and the practice supply a trained GP for administering
