Covid-19 - Anti-Viral Medication
Patients identified as suitable for anti-viral medication will receive a letter from the national team if they have a positive test explaining why they recommend they take this medication.
A referral will be passed to the Devon Referral Support Service (DRSS) who will forward this to the CMDU (Covid Medicines Delivery Unit) who will in turn contact the patient direct with 7 days of a positive result.
If the patient has not heard from the CMDU team then they should contact DRSS direct on 01626 204950.
Primary care can also refer the patient for this medication if they meet the criteria. Anti-viral mediation is suitable for symptomatic patients aged 12 years + with a diagnosis of Covid-19 who fall into one of the highest risk clinical cohorts as set out in the clinical policy. It should be prescribed within 7 days of a positive result.
