Retirement

We are announcing that Dr Karen Heaney will be retiring from the medical centre at the end of May 2022. Dr Heaney qualified as a doctor from Glasgow University in 1988 and started working in general practice in 1992 as a registrar. In 2001, Karen and her husband with their two daughters moved from Oxford to Devon and we were fortunate that she chose our surgery to begin a 5-year salaried GP position. In 2006 Karen was welcomed as a partner. She has been caring for the patients in our community for over 21 years and has been an integral part of our surgery. She has been a great friend and colleague to the staff that work alongside her and her bubbly personality, kindness, and positivity not to mention the wonderful Scottish lilt, will be missed by us all. Following Karen’s retirement, her patients will be moved to the list of another doctor within the practice, but please be reassured that you are able to continue to choose an appointment with any of our doctors.
