Steady on Your Feet Devon

Steady on Your Feet Devon is a new campaign led by the NHS and the local authority to help increase confidence and reduce the risk of falls.

The Steady on Your Feet Devon website has advice, guidance and resources designed for anyone worried about feeling unsteady on their feet. It aims to equip people with simple tips to stay active, independent and safe during everyday activities and includes a simple self-assessment tool and information about local strength and balance classes.  The results of the self-assessment are only viewable by the person that completes it and can be saved or printed for reference if required.

Steady on your feet

Let's talk about the F Word

For many people over 65, falling is a common problem. But it's not an inevitable part of ageing

With the help of some simple tips, you can stay active and independent while increasing your confidence and reducing the risk of falls.

USE THE SELF ASSESSMENT TOOL

Within the Exercise tab are some videos to watch, but also the contact information for strength & balance classes being held throughout the region.  At the moment the majority are within the Eastern locality, but new classes are being added all the time.  Those in Mid, East & Exeter (Eastern locality) are free for 6 weeks and can be self-referred to.  A healthcare professional does not need to make the referral - you can do this yourself!
